Isolite Systems is Becoming Zyris

By Back zyris March 7, 2018

Back in 2001, husband and wife Jim and Sandi Hirsch teamed up with Jim’s brother Tom to start the company that would become Isolite Systems. The early years were spent perfecting the art and science of bringing light into the oral environment while also providing a superior isolation alternative.

Over the years, improvements were made to the design of the Isolite mouthpiece, which now comes in six unique sizes to fit a wide variety of patients. In addition, the product line grew from a single Isolite product to include the Isodry and the Isovac in order to address the specific needs of dentists all over the world.

What didn’t change over the years was Isolite Systems’ commitment to develop, manufacture and support the highest-quality products that enable clinicians to provide superior care to their patients.

We believe that excellent dental care has far-reaching health effects. Poor oral health is linked to heart disease, diabetes, respiratory disease, osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis. Therefore, our work goes way beyond light and isolation. We want to be at the forefront of improving the overall health of the world’s population.

Why did we choose ZYRIS?

As a company name, Isolite Systems was a great brand communicator because it described our primary product offering: isolation and light. However, we felt it didn’t truly represent our entire vision for the future of our organization.

Our goal is to help transform the dental experience and make it a positive one for both patients and clinicians—generating smiles all around. So we chose the name ZYRIS, which comes from the two major muscles that help you form a smile: the zygomaticus major and risorius.

We want to be that extra muscle that helps patients enjoy better oral health, while also helping clinicians deliver positive dental experiences. When that happens, everyone smiles.

What this means to you

As we implement this name change, we want to make sure to answer any questions you might have.

Did you sell the company?

We have not sold the company and have no plans to do so in the future. We’ve never been more committed to supporting dentistry and enhancing the patient and clinician experience than we are today.

Are the Isolite, Isodry or Isovac going away?

We remain committed to all of our products, and none of them is being discontinued.

Are you introducing new products?

Yes! In fact, we recently announced the new Isolite 3 dental isolation system. It’s the first in a new series of product announcements you’ll see from us.

Does this name change have any impact on me as a current customer?

Our name change won’t have any significant impact on our customers. You will see some visual changes to things like billing statements, invoices and emails.

More to come

Even though our company has been around for 17 years, we feel like we’re just getting started and that the best is yet to come. We hope you’ll come along for the ride and share a smile with us.

Sincerely,
