Chalking up Inspiration.
Zyris is located in beautiful Santa Barbara, California. Every year, our community is treated to amazing art from talented chalk artists at the I Madonnari Italian Street Painting Festival. This joyful event draws thousands of people from all over the world to see beautiful large scale chalk masterpieces.
The I Madonnari festival brings us so much delight that we wanted to bring this special part of our community to the American Dental Association in San Francisco. We invite you to smile, relax and enjoy beautiful art. Click here to see more art from I Madonnari.
Meet Our Artist, Emma.
Emma Patterson is a local Santa Barbara resident, musician, and veteran chalk artist. She has participated in the I Madonnari Festival for more than 10 years. For our ADA chalk art Emma will be using over 150 different colors of high quality pastels. Her technique is to work on one square foot at a time to keep everything correctly scaled and to keep the work from smudging. To keep things tidy Emma uses a hand vacuum to suck up loose chalk and then sprays the finished work with an aerosol fixative.
